Down time

Sickness flowing through the family this last week has kept me from work & getting out for a ride. Then on Saturday while out for some fresh air with the kids to the school playground down the street, I was picking up the side of a temporary fence & had something go pop in my lower back. This pretty much knocked me for a loop for most of Sunday, but started to feel a lot better in the late-afternoon. I think I dodged a big one there.

Finally got out for a quick 2-hour ride yesterday & by chance caught up with AJ who'll again be riding for BRI. He had a bum foot so I was able to keep pace with him on the hills, but otherwise he'll be in good form entering the new season with his fresh CAT 1 status ready to attract some attention and hopefully further his team as well.

Why Castro really quit

Coincident with prosecutors revisiting Operation Puerto and rumor circulating about Brian McNamee's sealed testimony to the Mitchell Commission (not contained in the publically released Mitchell Report); that in order to save some slight shred of dignity (at least amongst his closest friends & relatives) that El Jefe Maximo has decided to finally shave his beard & retire his solid green military fatigues. Just don't expect to see him anytime soon lounging on the Spanish Riveria.

Torch passed

I missed an opportunity today at our team same-page meeting to thank Prudog for all his hard work and sacrifices he made on behalf of trying (and suceeding) to make the Axley racing team a worthwhile venture. The team was, and still is, mainly comprised of riders that he personally recruited. He had a hands on approach to running the squad HIS way, making deals, slinging nicknames with abandon, and had a certain nack to entertain and piss off people at the same time.

The Axley kit will be retired shortly after the racing season begins - when the debut of our new team main sponsor & kit will be revealed (perhaps by mid-to-late April).

Now it's Chad's turn. He definitely has a firm grasp on what's required to run this team and has his own ideas on how we can grow & move forward while kicking some butt on the NW racing calendar this year; an exciting time as the team evolves.

Another run 4 POTUS?

If the limited choices this Super Tuesday has you all riled up, fear not - Homer Simpson is considering reenergizing the race for the White House with exactly his same stable, tried & true platform as he used in '04. If he runs, which I certainly hope he does, he'll definitely have my endorsement & vote. Run Homer, run! Bill the Cat doesn't stand a chance in the upcoming summer debates.

Romney beats Clinton

This'll be the only opportunity that Mitt and his home state Patriots get to beat Hillary's Giants.

I'm just looking for a good game, and that's not going to happen. Not that it won't be a good game - it's my looking for it that's not happening, I'm flying all afternoon and evening.

So Eli, and they might be giants, while they played a close game during the regular season - will have to be giant killers to wrap up the Super Bowl with the endorsments, the big paycheck and that coveted ring.

Pats win.
